The Patrician Grill in Toronto - filming location for some pivotal scenes in the 90s TV series Forever Knight and due South - closed May 9, after the owners announced in April that they sold the restaurant so they could finally retire. It has been in the same family since 1967, serving local patrons and the Canadian film industry.

Tom Melissis (he played Dewey in S3(/S4) dS) shared photos of the iconic Patrician Grill sign being taken down on the Due South By South East Facebook group.

Awwww :( But good for them for being able to retire!

Yeah, I have mixed feelings... I'm happy they can retire, because everyone should be able to retire... But I'm also very sad to see it go.

I've known about this since May and was going to post about it as a Fannish Fifty but every time I think about it I get all I can't even. I really ought to post about it eventually...but...*wanders off to look at photos taken of me and various fen at The Patrician Grill together* .
