Happy belated birthday, Catherine Bruhier (Fannish Fifty #22)

The due South by South East Facebook group alerted me to the fact that yesterday was Catherine Bruhier's (Elaine on dS) birthday.

I got to meet her and talk to her a little (and she was on a panel) at the dS 25th anniversary RCW 139 con in Toronto in 2019... And she was just really lovely, personable and friendly - just wonderful.

Honestly, I can't remember that much (I tend to forget events/conversations when stressed, even good/fun stress, and I find personal interactions with celebrities stressful, even when they're nice; I was diagnosed with social anxiety a couple years later, which explained A LOT about my entire life). Sorry...

But iirc she just asked us where we were from, how was our trip to Toronto, how were we liking the con itself, and thanked us for being fans of dS for so many years. I think she said something about it being amazing that this little show had such a devoted following so many years after the original broadcast, too.

I just remember her being really, really sincere, friendly, and NICE. (Niceness is often underrated in this world, imo.) I just got the best impression of her. And in the panel, when Tom Melissis asked what people would like to be doing if they weren't acting, she said "being a mom" - that she really enjoyed motherhood, which I thought was sweet. Moms who really enjoy being moms are the best moms, imo!
