"The “Lovers of Modena”, a pair of skeletons so called because they
were buried hand-in-hand, were both men, researchers have found. The
bones, from between the 4th and 6th century AD, were found in a
cemetery in 2009 near Modena in northern Italy.
Due to the poor state of the remains, it was not possible to establish
the sex of the couple, despite successive attempts using genetic
analysis techniques.
Now, a group of researchers from the University of Bologna who
developed a new technique using the protein found in tooth enamel have
announced that the skeletons belonged to two men."

Date: 2019-09-13 03:43 pm (UTC)Right!? But if you read the article, they're like, "It's a mystery, such a puzzle, we really don't know why this would be the case, maybe they were brothers, or maybe fellow soldiers..." Basically, they're considering ANYTHING but the obvious: they were GAY.
These researchers clearly did not read the book "Bisexuality in the Ancient World" by Eva Cantarella. Like I did. Actually, I think I took it out of the Berwyn Library! ...But I might be remembering that wrong... I might have requested it from another library & merely picked it up from BPL.
If I ever write any more LaCroix-centric Forever Knight fic, I'm going to re-read that book. :)
