verushka70Well, having not understood the Yuletide Treasure (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/) FAQ all that well (I only just stumbled across it a few weeks ago, but read the FAQ a few times through), I signed up & also emailed the proprietors of the site to check on the "must have participated in Yuletide 2004" requirement...
But it is true. Can't play cuz I didn't play last year. So even though the CGI scrip' accepted my signups as Verushka and Surfgirl, & I'm listed as a participant, I can't actually write. Or I'm not supposed to.
I'm now unclear on whether or not I may write a New Year's Resolution that hasn't yet been written for an unfulfilled request. Sigh. So much for a challenge getting my creative juices flowing... I guess I'll have to do that myself. Whups, that sounds rather self-smutty, but I didn't mean it that way...
I'm looking through the quicksearch of all fics to see if any of the ones I've so far picked as me-write-able were already done. Yes (Alexander) and yes (Blade), dammit. We'll see what else is still available that I can actually write with any authority. I am up for a challenge. Nursing school... makes my head want to explode; have to release the tension somehow.
I could write some fic for requests that have already been filled, I guess, just for the helluvit, to exercise the writing muscles, and just enjoy myself, I suppose.
Never was too good at "staying within the lines," although in this case I really just didn't understand the FAQ quite. I hope they take me off the list of authors. I will be very surprised if I get matched with a request. But I would fulfill the request if I do!
