laptop resurrected with Puppy Linux!

So my laptop, which didn't exactly die but was severely crippled due to the loss of some necessary system files which wouldn't allow it to "see" it's network cards (not even the broadband one, let alone the wifi) since early January, has been somewhat resurrected. By me. WITHOUT fixing frakkin' Winblows.
I finally got up the nerve to create a Linux bootable USB flash drive. I'd read about it in a few places, but it seemed very complicated. Then I found Puppy Linux. I mean, Puppy Linux! Could it be more non-threatening if it tried? It's a PUPPY! Well, not really. But I downloaded the bootable CD .iso file, burned the CD, booted my laptop from the CD, connected my USB flash drive, chose the installer, and after minor tweaking that took about 10-15 minutes, I was "on" my "laptop" (NOT using the Winblows operating system installed on it!!), and *on* the 'net again, FINALLY!!
I've been using my mother's old, slow-as-molasses-in-January Celeron PC as my backup 'til now.
I did it! I installed Linux! And I can take it with me wherever I want on my USB flash drive, or just keep using it on my laptop!
*is proud*
