I think you're still going through the grieving process in a major way. Your mom hasn't been gone for that long and if you are anything like me, cat just means best friend with fur. And even though right now the cat's prognosis is good, it's still something of a shock to get news like that.

You just need to give yourself time, and space, and go easy on yourself.
