No, no, Starbuck!
::sobs::
Kara's mom reminded me a lot of my dad -- his stated efforts to "toughen" me up--

...and his slow deterioration and death...

And of my mom's cancer (now in remission, fingers crossed)...

...and my stepdad's cancer (controlled from spreading, for now).

I just didn't need to see that kind of parental death happen to someone as externally tough and internally fragile as Starbuck.

Frakkin' tearjerker episode in ways I totally didn't expect. Good to have CKR/Leoben back... but would have preferred better circumstances.

It was a tough episode to watch, no doubt about it. Having watched my own mother die of cancer over 4 years, it hit a lot of buttons. Still, I think it was by far one of the best episodes of the series.

Plus, CKR was outstanding and hot as usual.

Yeah, it was tough to watch. The last couple episodes have reminded me of season one. I never really expected to get into BSG -- I just watched it because CKR was in it -- but now it's one of the few current shows I actually watch. But, still... this season is getting kinda dark. Although (spoiler!) by now we all know that when you die on any TV show, there is no guarantee that you'll stay dead. Especially on a sci-fi show!

But BSG is so much more than mere sci-fi. Which is one of the things I really like about it...

see ya
