What's even more fascinating about the idealized hairlessness in men (as per the media) is that so many of them have what I like to call perma-scruff on their face. Truthfully, very few men can rock out a 5+ o'clock shadow. The majority of them look rather lazy. Especially when they get photographed on the red carpet: there's a handsome fella wearing a very nice and properly fitted suit that costs lots of $$$. And he's wearing some makeup (a lot of male actors are wearing makeup to premieres and the like because of HD photography) and looking handsome...except for the messy, not-quite-hairy neck. IJS.

The thing with young men wearing beards is that some of them don't want to get tagged as "hipsters" since hipster men do rock all kinds of facial hair.

One guy who I normally don't find attractive AT ALL is Chris Pine (from the Star Trek reboots). However, I can't help but REALLY APPRECIATE him wearing a beard (the fact that he's letting some gray hairs show instead of dying them is just the cherry on top).

I do like how distinguised Chris Evans looks when he wears a beard. Particularly because he keeps it well-groomed. That said, I will always have a soft spot for his truck stop hooker photoshoot (at least one of the many from before he got cast as Steve Rogers). >:)
