suggest BBM -- it works!
Date: 2006-03-11 12:33 am (UTC)my ex surprised me by saying BBM deserved Best Picture more than Crash did -- and this coming from a guy who wasn't all that keen to see BBM until the aftereffects on me resulted in him getting laid. I haven't seen Crash so I can't comment but I wanted BBM to win.
I'm sort of torn about the mainstreamification of slash via BBM. whoever came up with the "market it to women as a chick flick" angle should win a "finger on the pulse of the culture" award or something. it was bound to happen, eventually, I guess...
but slash was under the radar for so long, like a delicious secret. I'm a little apprehensive about it becoming the new hot thing. It's like a small band or small show you love that hasn't quite made it yet... when they make it big, you're happy for them, but you're also wistful because you know "making it" will change everything, most likely... and you can't turn it back after it happens, once the secret is out and everyone jumps on the bandwagon.
I sound like such an underdogger. guess I am!
