Fraser's (and Ray's and Ray's) tongue - Fannish Fifty ?? (to be numbered later)

In response to sammaggs' dS 3x04 Strange Bedfellows post, I'm seriously asking:

Yes, the tongue thing. What is with Fraser’s (Paul Gross’) tongue?? Why is it so… present? I don’t recall seeing any other character’s/actor’s tongue as regularly and consistently as Fraser’s/PG’s. And I get that, like, he’s the star, or co-star… but neither of the Rays are putting their tongue-tips out there hardly ever (if ever), and certainly not like Fraser/PG does.

So. Like, why? Was that how he got in Fraser’s head? Is it a Method Acting thing? Is Fraser just unbelievably oral? (I like to think so.) Just - what. is. UP. with his tongue??

I think that the tongue thing is from PG himself being -- as you say -- unbelievably oral. (And dogdam does it ever give me the shivers when Geoffrey Tennant does that thing with the razon and his tongue.)

I don't recall at the moment in which comm it was, but there was a C6D RPS challenge where one of the prompts was that someone in the fic was to say to PG "do you know that you act with your tongue". I think the fic was a Paul/Callum/Martha fic.
