I think that with the advent of AI, it has made it infinitely easier for people with moderate programming skills to create bots that will do this crap FOR them. Unfortunately. Hell, I just read an article re: AI cheating in university students... apparently the kids in programming classes use AIs to write their code.

Of course, nothing is fool proof... and you do need to proof read anything an AI gives you because they're prone to wonky crap. But... it kinda makes me shudder. I avoid AI like the plague, myself.
